The Model 520 Slurry Analyzer is designed to measure the ash content and density of coal as it is conveyed through piping.
The device consists of a source and detector assembly which is attached to a pipe, allowing for non-contact, non-destructive analysis in real-time as the material flows through. The detector is connected to an electronics enclosure that houses an industrial computer. This computer processes the signals received from the detector and displays the measured results to the operator.
The Model 520 Slurry Analyzer generates measurements every three seconds. These frequent readings are averaged to produce ash and density values every minute, ensuring consistent and accurate data. The measured values are made available to plant control systems through direct access to the system's database or via analog and digital outputs provided with the system. This data can be used to track and record material quality, facilitating efficient and effective process control and optimization.
